Funny story about this song, thought it's a little sad.
Wrote this one without lyrics first for a scene in a movie that needed a very straight-forward instrumental portion, hence the constant chord held throughout and the very basic structure otherwise.
I didn't have a name for the song yet, but saw my outdoor cat walking about, so I called it Walking Cat.
Some time afterward, I wrote the lyrics, only one line: you die and live on. The line was inspired by passing thoughts I had in the shower.
That same afternoon, not long after I finished recording the vocals, I saw my outdoor cat, O'malley, walking again. How fitting!
However, this time, he walked all the way to a bush some distance from my house, laid underneath it, and after about 10 minutes, passed away.
